Oregon’s Tax Climate: Strengths, Weaknesses, and Threats

Presenter:  Nicole Kaeding, Economist, Tax Foundation, Washington DC

Oregon’s tax climate ranks high at 11th nationally, but it has much room for improvement. The state’s high rates, complicated structure, and large tax burdens harm economic growth in the state.
Join for a discussion of how Oregon’s tax climate compares with other states across the country, and how Oregon can improve its rankings. The discussion will focus on Oregon’s strengthens and weakness, as well as threats to Oregon’s tax structure, such as Initiative 28 slated for the November 2016 ballot.
