The Willamette Valley is the heart of Oregon’s agriculture country a chief contributor to the economy and a way of life for many of the our residents. Oregon’s agricultural base is tremendously diversified, which continues to be part of its strength for steady growth. A study by Oregon State University found that agriculture is directly and indirectly linked to $25.8 billion in sales of goods and services (10.6% of statewide total). This supports 214,511 full and part-time jobs.
Farmers, ranchers, processors, distributors and shippers all have a significant impact on Oregon’s economy.
