About 70 SEDCOR members participated in this site tour to Hanard Machine and Neilsen Manufacturing.

Hanard Machine, Inc., is one of the premier job/machine shops in the Northwest. They specialize in precision casting, CNC milling, turning, welding and fabrication in their support of a multitude of industries. Their three buildings in West Salem have 112,000 sq. ft., and are in production 24 hours a day for the most efficient use of the equipment. 80 employees use their expertise working with exotic metals such as Titanium, Zirconium and Niobium. Working with these metals requires Hanard to continually update their technology.

Value-added services include manual milling for low quantity parts to “Just in Time” inventory tracking for customers that have a high moving inventory. Hanard’s customers range from Cascade Corporation and Wah Chang here in the Northwest, to large international aerospace companies such as Boeing and Airbus. A diverse group of products are made – helicopter footers, impellers for pumps used in dams, natural gas turbines and an interesting 7’ hole drill for roadways. This drill used in Europe and expanding to the United States, allows road construction without tearing up the whole street.
