We will be honoring Del Smith, Founder of Evergreen International Aviation and a strong proponent of creating private sector jobs both here in Oregon where the headquarters is located and around the world. Mr. Smith began the company in 1956, flying helicopters commercially. By 1960, Evergreen Aviation was the world’s most diversified aviation services company.
Evergreen’s seven separate aviation companies provide service and support to agriculture, construction, forestry, government, health, law enforcement, rescue operations, petroleum, seismology, and utilities. The company now has over 100 worldwide bases and over 4500 employees.
