Non-profits Benefit from OSU Federal Computer Donations
OSU Federal, Your Community Credit Union, has distributed 46 computer stations over the past two months to non-profit organizations throughout the credit union’s five-county field of membership.
Among the destinations for these computer donations were the Salem Boys and Girls Club, Marion and Polk County Law Enforcement for Youth, Casa Latinos, Home Life, Inc., CASA of Benton County, the Corvallis Environmental Center, Philomath Youth Activities Center, Benton Hospice, Salvation Army, The Arc of Benton County, Heartland Humane Society and Strengthening Rural Families.
Benton Hospice Service executive director Micky Shields said, “The donation of computers will help our administrative staff provide support for the teams of nurses, social workers, hospice aides and chaplains that serve our patients and their families.”
Ed Van Vlack of the Philomath Youth Activities Center said, “The computer lab is without question the most utilized room in our facilities. Keeping it equipped with the generous support of OSU Federal is vital to making our program as successful as it is!”
“The computers donated to Strengthening Rural Families by OSU Federal will be used by our community coordinators onsite and in our office to help organize and promote our programs. They are much appreciated as our staff frequently use their own personal computers for their work. This donation will increase productivity and will also allow us to spend funds on programs for the families we serve,” said Andrea Myhre, Director of Strengthening Rural Families.
OSU Federal CEO Richard Hein said, “The opportunity to meet the technological needs of so many worthwhile non-profits in our field of membership through the recycling of our computer inventory is extremely rewarding.”
