Salem-Keizer Transit to Improve Security Services

October 19, 2012 (Salem, OR) In order to improve the security presence on the transit mall, Salem-Keizer Transit has contracted with G4S Security Services. G4S specializes in transit security services, partnering with agencies such as Tri-Met in Portland and Lane Transit District in Eugene.
“Strengthening our security presence supports our core value of safety,” said Allan Pollock, Salem-Keizer Transit General Manager. “We welcome G4S and the experience that they bring to our organization.”
“G4S security officers will work closely with our security coordinator and Salem Police Department to ensure people feel safe while using our services,” said Pollock. “The security officers allow for a constant presence on the mall.”
A security officer is stationed at the Transit Mall during all service hours. “G4S provides support to our customers and staff alike,” said Ron Siegrist, Customer Service Supervisor. “Their presence makes the transit mall a more inviting place.”
