Valley Credit Union and Green Acres Landscape Drive Benefits Family Building Blocks

Throughout December, Valley Credit Union in conjunction with Green Acres Landscape collected diapers, cleaning supplies and hygiene products to support Family Building Blocks. Thanks to the generosity of staff, members, the credit union, our business partners and the local community, Valley Credit Union and Green Acres were proud to present Family Building Blocks with over 3,200 diapers and other needed supplies.
Jean Wheat-Palm, President and CEO of Valley Credit Union, was extremely pleased with this year’s drive, now in its second year. “A healthy community is built on safe, financially-sound environments that foster caring and supportive families. Family Building Blocks is dedicated to building a better community for all here in the Willamette Valley. We’re proud to support their efforts.” Rich Kansky, President of Green Acres Landscape, concurs. “It’s been a privilege to work with Valley Credit Union to collect diapers and other needed supplies for a great organization like Family Building Blocks.”
Through their two facilities, Family Building Blocks goes through over 42,000 diapers a year assisting local families. Julie Hilty, Community Outreach Coordinator for Family Building Blocks, said that on behalf of her organization, they were very thankful. “Business and community partnerships like those we share with Valley Credit Union and Green Acres provide critical funds and supplies when they are needed most. A big thank you to them, and to all of our local partner organizations.”
Family Building Blocks is a nonprofit organization that works to break the intergenerational cycle of child abuse and neglect by providing services for high-risk families that have children six weeks to five years old.
