The City of Woodburn has hired Jamie Johnk to be its Economic Development Director. Jamie comes to Woodburn from Clackamas County, where for the past nine years she has served as the County's Economic Development Coordinator.

This new Economic Development Department has been a priority for the Woodburn City Council, naming it one of their top goals at its March 7 Goal-Setting Retreat and later confirming it at its April 27 Council meeting.

Jamie said what attracted her to Woodburn was the vast opportunities that are waiting to be tapped into.

"There are a number of great economic development opportunities in Woodburn, including the Urban Growth Boundary expansion, Woodburn Premium Outlets and other retail aspects as well as a tremendous Downtown revitalization potential," she said. "My skillset will really provide a real benefit for the community and the work I can bring to Woodburn."

In addition to Clackamas County, Jamie has worked in Canby, Molalla and Silverton on economic development activities, including Downtown revitalization projects, business retention, expansion and recruitment and other key community projects.

"I am looking forward to bringing that experience to Woodburn and building on what is already a great City," she said.
