Marion & Polk Schools Credit Credit Union Investments Services Announded

SALEM, Ore. — MaPS Credit Union announces MaPS Investment Services, a new name and new affiliation for its investment program. The new program provides investment* and insurance** products through CUSO Financial Services, Inc. (CFS) and provides members a greatly expanded portfolio of traditional and non-traditional credit union products including professional, in-depth investment advice, mutual funds, stocks, bonds, fixed and variable annuities, and life and long-term care insurance plans. Virtually all publicly traded stocks and bonds are available on the brokerage platform.

“This change does not represent a shift in philosophy,” said Dan Penn, MaPS President and CEO. “ The emphasis will continue to be the protection and growth of our members’ assets through long-term savings and investment strategies, retirement plans and planning, and quality insurance programs.”

MaPS Investment Services Representative Wayne Muller, ChFC, is a Registered Representative of CFS. He is a broker with a select portfolio of securities products through CFS such as mutual funds, annuities, stock and bonds.

“Muller is uniquely qualified to provide credit union members with professional assistance, quality financial products, and dependable service, and MaPS members will greatly benefit from his many years of experience with the PERS retirement program,” said Christopher Federici, General Manager, Insurance and Investment Services. “Members will notice a significantly expanded offering of educational workshops and seminars. In addition to individual counseling, MaPS-sponsored events will be even more visible in the workplace, at the branches, and wherever members might gather.”

MaPS, celebrating its 70th birthday all this year, was chartered in 1935 as a teachers’ credit union and has expanded to include a number of local businesses that have no access to a credit union. MaPS’ seven branches are located in east, west, south and central Salem, Keizer, the Willamette University campus, and Monmouth.
