The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Meeting in Las Vegas
Raymond Burstedt, President of SEDCOR and John Pascall, the new Salem Airport Manager traveled to Las Vegas recently for the Annual NBAA Conference. The conference is one of the largest trade show events held in the United States and annually attracts more than 3,000 exhibitors and over 10,000 participants. The event also attracts another 35,000 visitors to the show.
The reason that SEDCOR and Salem decided to attend this year’s show was to showcase the industrial land and the services offered at the Salem Airport. SEDCOR and the City shared a booth at the show and took the opportunity to network with other communities and other industrial users of airport properties for potential partnerships.
Over 80 leads were generated at the show and though a small number of them are actually looking for location opportunities in the Pacific Northwest, the event was a positive one for both SEDCOR and the City. Hundreds of brochures with information about the Salem Airport and about Salem in general were distributed. There was a high degree of interest in Salem and the opportunities that we could facilitate, not only at our industrial sites at the airport, but other sites as well.
We will be following up with contacts made at the show over the next couple of months for further opportunities. Ray and John both feel that a larger, more centrally located booth at next year’s show would create even more interest in the Salem Area and it would also allow us to showcase some of our other industry partners as other communities do with their presentations.
