Tim Ray, District CTEC Coordinator

Too often, students graduate from high school without a clue on a possible career choice or they think they know what they want to do, only to discover it’s the wrong path, resulting in lost time and money.

North Marion School District Superintendent Ginger Redlinger, Yamhill Carlton School District Superintendent Charan Cline, Ed.D, and Dallas School District CTE Coordinator Tim Ray believe the solution to assisting students learn about possible career paths is CTE or Career and Technical Education programs.

Besides benefiting students, CTE programs provide businesses with an opportunity to work with students. Eager to share what they are doing in their individual school districts, Redlinger, Cline and Ray will discuss how they are providing hands-on learning opportunities for students to work with local businesses.

They will discuss their district’s CTE programs at the Oct. 10 SEDCOR Economic Business Forum Lunch, “Workforce Innovation.”

Their goal is to make certain students graduate from high school ready to either join the workforce or go to college knowing their career interests.
