40 Year Perspective on Willamette Valley Agriculture: How Our Past is Shaping the Future

Thursday, February 25, 2016

7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Festhalle Room, 500 Wilco Hwy NE, Mt. Angel

Join 150 agriculture producers from across Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties for a breakfast and forum addressing the needs and interests of the second largest industry in Oregon: agriculture.

Keynote speaker: John Burt, Executive Director of Farmers Ending Hunger

John Burt will reflect on over 40 years of being involved closely with Oregon’s agriculture. He will explore how the commodity mix has evolved; how technology has maintained productivity; how competition for resources like water and labor will determine the future; what Oregon’s agriculture might look like 40 years from now.

Mr. Burt began his career at OSU Extension Service in 1973 with a typewriter and a land line. Today, he serves as the Executive Director of Farmers Ending Hunger.

Thanks to our sponsors, the event is free for invited guests. Breakfast catered by The Glockenspiel Restaurant.
