Strategic Economic Development Corporation (known as SEDCOR) is the lead economic development entity for Oregon’s Mid-Willamette Valley. The 450-plus member nonprofit organization leverages strong public and private partnerships to successfully retain, grow and attract high value traded sector jobs and capital investment to Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties.
SEDCOR focuses on supporting and growing traded sector businesses in the region. The key industries are advanced manufacturing, agriculture and food processing, technology, wood products and forestry, transportation and distribution, and aviation and aerospace. The key industries have the best potential for job growth, to pay higher wages, and to bring new investments into the local economy.
SEDCOR's mission is to coordinate the strength of its public and private partnerships to successfully retain and attract high value jobs and capital investment, while providing member services that support business success.
We actively support our mission by focusing on the following objectives:
Retaining and expanding existing businesses
- Attracting foreign and domestic companies to locate in our area
- Promoting international trade and export
- Supporting the Enterprise Zone program and other tax incentives
- Managing a portfolio of raw land and industrial real estate locations
- Leading and coordinating workforce development activities
- Hosting events and creating publications to benefit our members and their communities
What people are saying about the value of being a SEDCOR member:
SEDCOR got involved early in the feasibility study for our expansion and brought the key players together to make this expansion a reality. They put together the package that helped Garmin AT communicate the benefits of expanding here in Salem vs. other potential locations. Their knowledge of the process, resources, and contacts allowed us to have a very smooth development process and get the project up and running quickly.
City of Silverton

North Santiam School District
We have continually been impressed by SEDCOR's commitment to our community. They have played a crucial role in connecting our high school to our local manufacturers. While this in itself would be significant, they have also brought their knowledge of workforce skills to our conversations. We look forward with optimism to SEDCOR's continued leadership in our communities.
