Oregon Cherry Growers, Inc., a Salem-based cooperative made up of nearly 60 farmers in the Willamette Valley and the gorge, has acquired Bell Foods International’s cherry operations as of late February. Bell Foods founder and president Craig Bell will join Oregon Cherry Growers in an advisory role, and his company will continue to produce and process non-cherry products.

Oregon Cherry Growers was founded in 1932 and has plants in Salem and The Dalles. It is the largest grower-processor of sweet cherries in the world and produces dried fruit, canned cherries, glacé and fresh cherries.
