Silverton Health and Legacy Health announced that another milestone has been reached in their effort to come together.

The governing boards for each organization signed an affiliation agreement last December delineating how the two will align. The agreement was then submitted to the Oregon attorney general’s office for review and approval. The attorney general’s office has completed their review and approved the affiliation.

“We are thrilled about this partnership because of what it means for both organizations, as well as for what it will bring to our communities,” said Sarah Fronza, Interim President/CEO, Silverton Health. “With a shared vision for innovation we look forward to discovering new ways to improve population health, while reducing the cost of care and increasing access.”

In the letter announcing approval, the attorney general’s office cited “the many provisions of the agreement that benefit the local community.” The two organizations are moving forward in preparation to close May 31st with more details to be released June 1, 2016.

“I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been working so hard to ensure that this affiliation will be successful for both Legacy and Silverton,” said George Brown, MD, President and CEO of Legacy Health. “It is a testament to the commitment I see every day from people who are the embodiment of each of our missions.”

Silverton and Legacy have are non-profit, locally owned organizations with a mission to improve the health of the communities they serve.
