After six years of dedicated service, SEDCOR President Chad Freeman has announced he has accepted a job as the director of corporate development for Henningsen Cold Storage, headquartered in Hillsboro. His final day at SEDCOR will be Sept. 21.
“Making the decision to take a new job wasn’t easy,” Freeman said. “I enjoy the work I do and the people I work with to fulfill SEDCOR’s mission to bring jobs and investments to the communities in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties.”
SEDCOR Board Chairman Mark Hoyt said Freeman has played a critical role in the nonprofit economic development corporation's success. Accomplishments during Freeman's leadership include:
Fiscal Year 2016
• $60 million in new investments that added or retained 397 jobs.
• Companies assisted include Henningsen Cold Storage, Don Pancho Authentic Mexican Foods, Turner Lumber, GK Machine, and A.R.E. Manufacturing.
Fiscal Year 2017
• $108 million in new investments and 595 jobs added or retained.
• Companies assisted include Henningsen Cold Storage, Pac-Trust, St. Cousair Oregon Orchards, Cabinotch Innovative Solutions, Wilco/Hazelnut Growers of Oregon and Freres Lumber.
Fiscal Year 2018
• $151 million in new investments and 697 added or retained jobs.
Companies assisted include Amazon, AC Foods Silver Mountain, Oregon Fruit Products, RedBuilt, Red Barn Hemp and Crosby Hop Farm.
Freeman noted SEDCOR’s accomplishments were the result of a true team effort. Knowing SEDCOR has a talented and dedicated staff, a loyal and invested board of directors, and committed public and private members makes him confident the nonprofit economic development agency will continue to flourish.
Hoyt is working with SEDCOR’s Executive Council to recruit a new president. The deadline for candidates to submit applications is Sept. 7.
“SEDCOR has decided to conduct a comprehensive search,” Hoyt said. “It is the executive council’s objective to find the best individual to continue to lead SEDCOR’s success, while also making sure the candidate is a good fit for the staff, board and members.”
