Boshart Trucking, Inc. awarded Oregon Trucking Association's "Image Award" at Annual OTA Convention

Gleneden Beach, Oregon
(September 27th, 2019) Oregon Trucking Association (“OTA”) awards Boshart Trucking, Inc. the OTA Image Award at its Annual OTA Convention.

Launched in 2018, the OTA Image Award strives to recognize individuals and companies that promote the overall image of the trucking industry to the public, including, but not limited to “the company/individual's commitment to safety and improving practices and technology/equipment, recruiting methods for highly skilled personnel (including drivers), involvement in community affairs, positive interaction with the public and/or media, promotion of the industry through publications and other online communication (including social media), and involvement with OTA and other trucking-related organizations,” according to OTA’s website.

Boshart Trucking prides themselves on their promotion of not only their industry but also their drivers through social media, community involvement, media promotion, and involvement in the legislature. Some of their favorite promotions of the industry are at youth events, such as the sponsorships at the Linn County Fair, local FFA and 4-H clubs, the Boys and Girls Club teams, and the Linn County 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction, and through events such as the Oregon AgLink’s “Adopt A Farmer” visits, Oregon AgFest’s “What We’re Made Of” event, and the Halsey-Shedd Fire District Field Day. In addition, owners, Shelly Boshart Davis and Macey Wessels, often receive calls to be a voice to represent the trucking industry at the State Capitol. In all forms of media, Boshart Trucking encourages a positive image of what the industry does to honor and support their professional truck drivers, improve environmental impacts, and better safety on the road.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the trucking industry represents 1 in 17 jobs in Oregon, and 5.8% of full-time jobs across the nation. Trucking accounts for 71.4% of all freight transported in the United States, and 75% of American communities depend solely on trucks for goods such as, but not limited to, groceries, fuel, and medical supplies. If trucks stop, we stop, because trucking moves America forward.

Boshart Trucking is a family business that values hard work, relationships, and community involvement. They strive to be a leader in agriculture transportation by hauling agricultural commodities including, but not limited to, hay, straw, hazelnuts, grass seed, fertilizer, mint, nursery plants, flowers, bird seed, wheat, corn, and many more to customers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
